I don't know if it's similar to yours.
We had a cat. He was a hunter. New to our household at that time. He was such a loner that he lay out on the garage floor where it was 120 degrees instead of hanging out with the people.
Well one afternoon he suddenly dashes from the hot garage, through the cat door into the dining room, and THROUGH a sliding glass door's screen to get outside quick.
He obviously saw SOMETHING that terrified him. He was a powerful strong bold cat, not a guy to ever get scared of anything or anyone. He could hold his own in any fight. But something spooked him that day and he went right through the screen.
We never found out what it was, and it never happened again.
