A good article on "silent running" tactics for the modern battlefield from the Army Cyber Institute at West Point.

"one goal is to make the adversary’s situational picture blur and disable the ability to accurately assess the function, size, position, and activity of friendly units."

and

"As a preparation for a future near-peer fight, it is crucial to have an active mindset on avoiding unnecessary transmissions that could feed adversarial sensors with information that can guide their actions. This might require a paradigm shift, where we are migrating from an abundance of active systems to being minimalists in pursuit of stealth."

So the Bruce Dern Flick (Good movie BTW) is notable even though it probably has zero to do with the Q post, but this article about "silent running" from the Army Cyber Institute at West Point doesn't get a second look by anyone?
