I read 1984 in high school (assignment - do they still teach kids to spot propaganda and authoritarian governments?), and reread it in 1984. I just shook my head because he’d “clearly” just missed it. But wait. It is so much like what is going on today and and the past few years it is amazing. Goes to show how fast things changed for the worst. A lot of people of his era could have told us what to expect from these progressive, Marxist crazies.
