In terms of how they deal with people not going to work (and there are a lot who can't telecommute) I'm almost thinking Andrew Yang's entire presidential campaign was some sort of predictive programming for when this all goes down. He didn't seem like much of a deep stater, and made "$1000 a month" such a focal point of his campaign that it's the only thing anyone remembers. Then he disappeared without a trace, putting his support behind Sanders I think. Now that the idea of a $1000 check is in people's minds, some sort of compensation while people's livelihoods are effected by all this won't seem so outlandish. I could be completely wrong on this, but I guess we'll see.

I don't know if you're too old to relate or too indifferent to care, but she's upset because she feels like she doesn't have a future. It's a common sentiment among the younger America, everyone knows the system is fucked and feels hopeless.
Bernie's solutions might be completely impractical, but he's tapping into real, authentic anger. People don't trust Trump, know they're being left behind by the Democrats and Biden winning probably feels like being stabbed in the heart. She might be naive, but you're fighting for her too. Not just those who agree with you.
