What? Over 20 years ago the toll tickets for passenger cars on the New Jersey Turnpike or Pennsylvania Turnpike were gathering data about cars, which exit they got on and off, and I'm sure cameras photographing license plates were correlated. So much more is undoubtedly being done today!

Now we got people's cellphones (and cars equipped with cellular capability not necessarily used by passengers) and ubiquitous WiFi where it becomes very possible to triangulate position and correlate it to a specific individual. Big databases, certainly feasible. Big brother!
