When this first started here a few weeks ago and Trump downplayed it, it was a good move. That indifference he showed reflected across the country. But now…
After last night, where he actually showed some major concern and is taking what most people consider "drastic measures" to mitigate the spread, people are shitting their pants. It also didn't help that the NBA suspended their season about 20 minutes later, and Hanks comes out with the hoax that he has it. Then people wake up today and see the stock market it in total free fall—bye bye savings.
Here's the problem as I see it…
Because the problem with the media was never really addressed over the past three years (aside from calling them fake), Trump is in no position to maintain indifference or even call the virus out for what it really is.
TOO many people still believe the media, and TOO many people still follow the stars.
If Trump calls it out, they'd destroy him. So, he has to play along and essentially start digging his own grave. More and more people are getting to get more and more afraid and they're going to be isolating themselves in their houses and apartments watching the news and hearing non-stop talk about how poorly Trump has handled this. All the while they're going to be watching stock market doom. Needless to say, this is a very bad thing. And if it is indeed a DS FF, then they're doing a really good job.
Had the media been exposed earlier, Trump would have far more leverage to just say it how it is. Had FISA Declas occurred (showing the complicity of our allies like Italy), it would be far easier to tell people that this is an overblown hoax by a lot of bad people wanting to bring him down. Maybe he couldn't come out with it just like that, but at least many more people would be open to it.
