Back in late 90's I saw a giant green fireball that left no trail. It was YUGE, split in two parts that fell in a spiral, and was reported from MS to the southern IL region.

Most every bolide I've ever seen left a trail, however, that one didn't. Due to it's odd green color and no trail, I've always felt that one was spacejunk or a reentry vehicle of some sort.

That explains the reports in the following days that the us army and MS NG were following up on reports of impacts.
