It would leave meter crater if we are assuming an implimentation of the original. I doubt this is causing earthquakes.

 

The ZUMA orbiter was seen in its first orbit, so its unlikely it was immediately deorbited before any on-board problem could be resolved by ground controllers.

 

Its in a 51 degree inclination and at 900KM altitude which indicates wide area coverage, but not for optical surveillance.

 

The launch window was 2 hours, which indicates they did not care where in orbit it wound up.

 

This is a strange project. Best guess is a weapon against a specific ground target or series of targets, It may be part of a system that includes an array of satellites some of which may already be in orbit, and others to follow.

 

I think this means NK war will not be initiated until February or March.

It doesn't have to be straight up and down, although that would be the most efficient. Varying the azimuth and speed could cause various results, like burning up in the atmosphere, or penetrating to or into the ground. I favor the hyperballistic harpoon approach as the is less mass to lift into orbit.

The middle picture, is a Walther P99 with shit on it. The P99 was developed by Walther from 1994-1996 and not available in production before 1996.
