Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman’s movie The Prom latest coronavirus casualty as filming halted
Netflix movie The Prom which stars Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman has become the latest movie to halt filming because of the coronavirus. Ryan Murphy’s movie has been postponed ‘out of an abundance of caution’, a source has revealed. ‘No one has the coronavirus, this is just being prudent with everything that is going on around the world,’ another source told Deadline. According to reports, the movie was due to finish filming over the next few days, although the location shoot was planned at a school which has been closed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Production is expected to resume in mid-April, which could delay FX’s American Crime Story, which Murphy was next scheduled to work on. It is the latest movie to have its release pushed back, along with The Quiet Place II, James Bond’s No Time To Die, and Fast And The Furious sequel F9.
Universal Pictures’ Fast 9, which stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and John Cena, was originally set for release on 22 May but has been delayed by a year to April 2021. James Bond movie No Time To Die was pushed back from April to November due to Covid-19, while it was announced today that A Quiet Place Part II will no longer be released this month.
