Had a similar experience. Saw Space station Mir, one of the Shuttles and a Soyuz fly over in close proximity. Shuttle was just departing and Soyuz was arriving. All three craft had humans onboard and at the time, represented the most humans in space at one time. This is another good site for tracking satellites: https://www.heavens-above.com/

About ten years back the C_A had a satellite that was falling out of orbit that they did not want to fall into the wrong hands. I was tracking it each time it flew over my area at night. They decided to shoot it down to drop it in the Pacific Ocean with a Lockheed missile from a Destroyer parked near Hawaii. Luckily I saw the satellite come over on it's final orbit and confirmed 90 minutes later that they succeeded when it failed to appear on it's next pass. The bonus was that I helped make the IR sensor that was used to target the satellite.
