SEATTLE - The national law firm of Davis Wright Tremane LLP has closed its offices in Seattle, Bellevue and Portland, Ore., after one of its employees died after experiencing flu-like symptoms, the firm's managing partner announced Friday.
The employee, 60-year-old Lisa Carney, was an executive legal assistant at the firm's Bellevue office, said Jeff Gray, Davis Wright’s managing partner.
He said she left her office on Tuesday, worked remotely Wednesday and was found dead in her home Thursday morning. Her cause of death is under investigation.
"Since we do not yet know the cause of her death, in the interest of the health and well-being of all our employees, we are closing our Bellevue and Seattle offices until further notice and have asked everyone in those offices to work remotely," Gray said in a prepared statement.
"In addition, we have asked those in the Bellevue office to self-quarantine according to the CDC’s guidelines during that time," he added.
