Where I am we have vervet monkeys. They destroy ANYTHING you try to growarrots; as soon as the greens began showing, they pulled them all out & left them, didn't even eat the fledgling roots! Same with radish, same with lettice, same with beets, same with onion! They are an absolute pest. they're protected here too! you can't even let off fireworks to frighten them away! When I was a kid, you could grow just about anything successfully then about 1997 a troop was relocated to here and they have been vermin ever since!. No shootie the wildlife!
