In the end McAfee might be right, who knows? He must've had some inside muse let's call it, to make his stand. He might just be off on the timescale: future proves past… Dick with scrambled eggs or everlasting fame? (I first wrote 'scambled' which I thought was a cute, telling mistake).
If you invest 100tokens, the market goes up 50%, you are worth 150, right? If the market loses 50% after that you're worth 75…You just netted a 25token (or %) loss. Congrats.
If on the other hand the market tanks 50% after you purchased your 100tokens worth you are now the proud owner of 50tokens. Then the market appreciates 50% and you are back to 75tokens (or % of initial investment). Same story here, your netted loss is 25% or tokens.

But, never be naive: history has NEVER been dictated by majorities and their doings.
You'll die before action if you go try to study and know all about our weapons/tools.
