Greetings fellow anons.

Freelance dev anon here, working on a network-related project, and I need some crumbs to follow (I'll do my own digging) on state of the art networking technologies. I know 5G is all the rage and is bigly mainstream. I've already discovered WiFi-6 which looks fairly promising. Fiber optic SONET and/or DWDM/CWDM are pretty standard, and are already 30+ year old technology. Is there anything else out there, something not-so-mainstream? I need something that's on the bleeding edge… 6G? WiFi-7? There must be something else available, that's been drowned out by the hype over 5G… Can any anon point me in the right direction? It'd be much appreciated.

>networking technologies or networking protocols?

both really, basically need the latest technology physically possible, and the latest protocol to run on that technology. I think if we go the wireless route, that mesh will definitely be a part of it.

there's something new to me, and we do like the light around these boards - thanks

well nothing is out of the question at this point. I'm just confined by what I've seen from my perspective, so that's why I'm asking here. 40k feet sounds very interesting, indeed…

Thanks anons, these crumbs will keep me busy for the time being. Godspeed.
