Hey God, you dont mind if I kill a bunch of innocent people and torture Job to, you know, prove something you already know the answer to (you being all-knowing and shit), right?

Ok, cool.

False. One can choose to reject, but belief is not under our control.

If I put a gun to your head and told you to "believe " that I had a full sized T-rex in my pocket you couldn't do it.

While each person's barrier to belief is different it is not something we choose.

Maybe, but the rest of us are stuck with the way our brains interpret the world, and our own barriers to belief.

So we mostly sit back, be good people, and wait for that burden of proof to be met while trying to keep an open enough mind.

Everyone's criteria for belief is different, and rarely a choice.

Instead, 2 billion people tell you that "yeah, he totally has a dinosaur in his pocket". This would be enough for a lot of people to believe.

Or "here is a really old book that says he has a dino in his pocket ", yet even more would believe.

Each individual has a set of criteria that needs to be met before they can truly "believe", and it's not something they choose.
