Chicago Mayor Lightfoot: Trump Administration Is ‘Creating a Disaster’
Sunday on MSNBC, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot criticized President Donald Trump’s administration for its response to the coronavirus outbreak.
Reacting to O’Hare International Airport being crowded with returning Americans, Lightfoot said, “When the federal government doesn’t listen and when it doesn’t bring the considerations of mayors and governors and other local officials into the equation, not only are you creating a disaster, not only are you creating a hazardous circumstance that threatens the public, you risk causing serious illness and death. Regarding staffing for customs and border patrol, the federal government must immediately and significantly increase personnel devoted to airport screening. And rather than sending ICE into the streets, send screeners to our airports. That’s what we need. That’s what will be helpful

Almost as bad as the murder rate in Chicago, is the loss of taxpayers who have had it with the insane property taxes in the city! Job-creators and others are selling their houses in Chicago for a loss, and paying a state exit tax–JUST TO CUT THEIR LOSSES. Instead of a sane tax policy, Chicago and the rest of Ilinois' politicians are happy to screw over their constituency–so state employee unions can retire with multiple pensions in the $100's of thousands at age 50. It's sad because Chicago is a beautiful city, but the politicians (ALL DEMOCRATS) really don't care about the people–they just want their money.

Why, if this is such a serious matter, were the Democrats not eager to sit down and discuss the response and way ahead when President Trump imposed travel restrictions from China on January 31? If Lightfoot cannot give an answer to this, she should perhaps just shut up.

Did the airports and mayors of cities with incoming flights plan and then contact the WH to inform that there were XXX number of passengers scheduled to arrive; and they only had XXX workers and had not been able to locate/secure an area to process everyone; and needed further help?
With that phone call that Mayor Lightfoot didn't make in advance (because she's not on top of things… since she's been mayor, Chicago deaths have gone up, not down), had anyone at the Fed Level in DC dismissed her requests (she never made), she'd have something to complain about - but as she is freaking out/going hysterical of her own shortcomings; turns out, she is only another mayor of a large city that has no business being a mayor of a large city.
