Brits hinted they assisted Team Obama on Russia collusion probe
K.T. MacFarland also says she believes James Comey’s alert to Trump about Steele dossier was akin to blackmail.
Just the News-
resident Trump’s former deputy national security adviser says a British intelligence official hinted to her that his country had aided the Obama administration’s early Russia collusion probe during the 2016 election.

The contact from British Deputy National Security Adviser Patrick “Paddy” McGuinness occurred around the day the sensational but now debunked Christopher Steele dossier leaked in the U.S. news media.

Greek Invasion: Ship with nearly 200 illegal migrants runs aground on Greek island
A cargo ship carrying 193 illegal migrant invaders from Turkey ran aground in rough weather conditions not far from the port of the Cycladic island of Kea (Tzia), near Athens, early Monday morning, according to the Greek coast guard.
The ship began its journey from the Turkish port of Canakkale and is said to have planned to head for Italy when rough weather conditions in the maritime area forced it to run aground on the Greek island, the Greek City Times reports.
According to the Greek coast guard, all illegal migrants were able to disembark from the cargo tanker after it hit the outside of the breakwater at the port amid gale-force winds and rough seas.

EU Commission Vice President self-isolates after exposure to coronavirus
The EU Commission Vice President tasked with steering the bloc’s Green Deal strategy has gone into isolation after a French official he met with tested positive for the new coronavirus (Covid-19).
Green Deal Commissioner Frans Timmermans went into isolation last week as a self-decided protective measure, Commission spokesperson Vivian Loonela told The Brussels Times.
Loonela said that the Dutch commissioner, aged 58, had chosen to self-quarantine after it was reported that French Secretary of State Brune Poirson, whom he met on 6 March, had tested positive for the virus.

Hungary: PM Orbán says that immigration is responsible for coronavirus epidemic
Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has unequivocally placed the blame for the coronavirus outbreak in Europe on immigration and affirmed that Hungary has been ahead of the curve in understanding the dangers of migration.
In an interview regarding his country’s response to the coronavirus threat on Hungary’s Kossuth Rádió Friday morning, the Prime Minister was asked why universities were being closed while public schools were remaining open. Orbán stated that it is because “there are a lot of foreigners there,” noting that most of Hungary’s early cases of the virus were found among Iranian students.
He further explained that it was not possible to separate the foreign students from the Hungarians, so he thought it best to close the institutions altogether.
(On Friday, however, the Hungarian government announced that public schools would be closed as well starting the following week.)

Spain & Portugal increase border controls to slow coronavirus spread
Portugal is suspending rail and air traffic to and from Spain for a month, while Madrid is denying entry to everyone bar residents and a few others on land borders, in a bid to control the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
The authorities in Lisbon said that the temporary halt to all air and rail traffic with Spain will go into effect at 2300 GMT on Monday and last through April 15. Portugal has just recorded its first death from the Covid-19 coronavirus, reportedly a 80-year-old man. There are fewer than 200 confirmed cases in the country as of Monday.
Spain has been hit particularly hard by the pandemic, with only China, Iran and Italy registering more cases. There have been just over 9,400 cases of covid-19 so far, with 309 confirmed fatalities.
As the deadly coronavirus continues to spread, Madrid has ordered a lockdown of its land borders, only allowing entry to Spanish nationals, residents, cross-border workers and people with justified emergencies, according to the country’s interior minister

Lucky escape in Russia’s FAR EAST: Military helicopter accidentally SHOOTS at apartment building
Strange things can happen in Russia's Far East. A remote and wild region around 50 percent larger than the entire European Union, with only the population of Ireland. Nevertheless, the latest is bizarre, even by local standards.
Russian media reports that, on Saturday, a military helicopter accidentally shot at an apartment building in Chita, the federal district's fourth-largest city. The Mi-8 Ministry of Defense chopper damaged the building's balconies, glazing, and flooring. There were no dead or injured.

US cements position as largest arms exporter, with Russia a lagging second
The United States has supplied more than one-third of global arms over the past five years, cementing its position as the world’s top weapons seller, according to a Swedish based research institute.
In a report published on March 9, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) said that global volumes of arms transfers increased by nearly 6 percent in the 2015-19 period, compared with 2010-14.
Exports of weapons from the United States grew by 23 percent during the latest period, raising its share of total exports to 36 percent.
Russia was the world’s second-largest exporter with 21 percent of global arms deliveries, but Russian exports were 18 percent lower than in 2010-14.

1,000 Michigan Children to Receive $80m for Being Sexually Abused in State Institutions
A massive lawsuit representing over 1,000 children who were held and sexually abused in the Michigan corrections system was recently settled as state officials agreed to pay $80 million to the victims. The lawsuit began in 2013 and has been an uphill battle for the plaintiffs as the state fought them every step of the way.
The massive payout comes after hundreds of children came forward with claims that they were sexually assaulted and harassed by corrections officers as well as incarcerated adults while in the state’s care in detention centers across the state.
Despite the size of the settlement, the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) director and a spokesperson for the current attorney general cited the costs of litigation as their reason for settling — not guilt.

The Atlantic Must Stop Covering For The Chinese Communist Party
The Chinese Communist Party does not want to be held responsible as the source or for the spread of COVID-19, also rightfully known as the Wuhan virus. This is entirely unsurprising for an authoritarian regime that has long deployed propaganda and manipulation. What is surprising, and alarming for Americans, is that the U.S. publication The Atlantic would adopt China’s anti-American disinformation efforts.
Since the outbreak began in Wuhan in early January, Chinese officials have concealed information about the spread of the virus, silenced and punished Chinese doctors who tried to warn others, ordered the destruction of lab evidence, and claimed the virus originated in the United States.

As humans have spread across the world, so have infectious diseases. Even in this modern era, outbreaks are nearly constant, though not every outbreak reaches pandemic level as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has.
Today’s visualization outlines some of history’s most deadly pandemics, from the Antonine Plague to the current COVID-19 event.
