AGAG in the old testament was King of the Amalekites. God commanded them Man, Woman and Child, all livestock, everything concerning the Amalekites irradiated from the earth.
Their wickedness was per-deluvian in nature. They were partaking in the worst practices you can imagine. From raping, molesting, killing small children to any evil imagination they could conceive.
Saul did not complete the job. Later in the book of Ester, Haman was a descendant of the Amalekites. (see below)
Haman attempted to kill every Israelite by King's edict. Only Ester's pleading save them all.
I believe it has been the descendants of the Amalekites to this day that torment the Israelites, from Hitler to even today.
Because Saul told Samuel and the Lord that he did not wipe them all out because he wanted to kill the animals in sacrifice to God. The lesson is that obedience is better than sacrifice.
