we CAN'T - keep Grandma in her room.
If we could keep Grandma in her room, we would keep her away from the bad viruses, and, really it's the elderly who are generally the ones who are getting sick and dying, not exclusively.
This is going to happen with every single virus until we find a solution to the old people get sick and die problem.
So we really need to find a way to keep old people away from germs, and the fact is that creating the closest thing to a dream scenario for the old people (short of them not being old) is not the way to go. Not harmful to young people, but we can't let them get it because it might hurt old people, the old people don't want to be more cautious, stay away from germs all that much. They'd rather the economy collapse so that nobody has any germs for them to catch. It's generally perfectly fine for most young people to get this, you catch it, get maybe a little sick, and then it goes away. But the old people, who are generally secluded anyway, don't want to be completely secluded, so, away goes the economy.
