Those of you living within a medium to large metropolitan region calling yourself prepared for the storm, yet you don't have a working new or vintage scanner, shame on you for such neglect. This 80's era analog scanner picks up EMS dispatches, fire department, traffic helicopters, CHP, municipal maintenance, school bus, state park, and air traffic control/pilot chatter from two significant airports.

Mine is chattering away in the background. Most curious thing heard today was a FD truck unable to locate an address that "does not exist at the provided location." Dispatch reported back that the only thing given to them were GPS coordinates, which they used to assign an address. And just now, an emergency landing request.
