Anything should be dug and discussed, even if it seems to point in a direction opposite what Q seemed to mean. It could unlock another level of meaning that we didn't even imagine at first. Or just turn out that Q team didn't choose a flawless metaphor - they're only human after all.
Would be interested to learn about the original events that the film was based on. (My attempts to search it on DDG are currently being routed to Amazon, MIT, Haliburton, and du Pont IP addresses at the monment, and blocked by my software filter, so I gave up doing even a basic search on it for now.)
