If a"non-essential" job is one of value, typically it pays a fair wage to keep qualified employees that add value.

Your floors are not clean unless you can eat off them.
Get the garden hose out and wash the floors down thoroughly, every spot at least 30 secs (may take a while with a large room).
Added benefit is you can then invite AOC over for dinner with floors clean enough to eat off.
