For every active case, there must be at least 10 others directly exposed (average) by that person. Then another 100 indirectly. So as the 10 catch it, they will have then exposed more.
This is why it is growing at 100x every 2 weeks. Spain went from 116 to around 10 000 in 2 weeks!
The US numbers are around 6000 now, but its probably between 40 000 and 60 000 un-diagnosed, or people just thinking its flu.
If the exponential growth is around 100x every 2 weeks, then US will have about 600 000 by the first week of April and by mid April it will be a quarter of the population!
