I use a volcano site for Kiauea, and I change the view to where I want, and also the map to be the one that I show (an inhance sat view).

when you go to the page it always centers on Kilauea. you have to repostion the map to where you want to see.

no, it doesn't work like that.

I go there. I zoom way way out with the mouse wheel. then I move down the page and look in the window that lets me repostiin the view. And very quickly, in seconds, I'm where ever I need to be. And then I zoom in. I reset the back ground map. 5 seconds, tops.

It's very fruitful and I used it for the China Lake and the Puerto Rico swarms, as well as a curious swarm off in the North Pacific.

Once you learn to use that page you will find it easy to use.

Give it a shot.

always been a map buff, earthquake/volcano buff going back many years and use USGS sites for over 20 years.

this one is a good one becuase it seems to not get hung up with heavy traffic, and seems to have fresh access to the data. It doesn't run into high traffic issues, because it's supposed to be local to Hawaii. But anyone can use it.

I used to like to go to web cams for volcanoes and I'd screen cap it consequtively . picture would up date every so often, not like now when you get a live stream. what we do when we're bored.
