From Wiki:

Hermes

(/ˈhɜːrmiːz/; Greek: Ἑρμῆς) is a deity in Ancient Greek religion and mythology. Hermes is considered as the herald of the gods, as well as the protector of human heralds, travellers, thieves, merchants, and orators, respectively. He is able to move freely between the worlds of the mortal and the divine, playing the role of the psychopomp or "soul guide" — a conductor of souls into the afterlife.

Commenting on my own post…it's early for me…"thieves, merchants, and orators" sure sounds like what make up a politician these days. Also, check the snake pole thingy. Forgot what that's called but it's also like what Moses had in Exodus to prevent snake bite and became the symbol of modern medicine.

Any time I see "messenger to the gods" or whatever kind of interdimensional comms I think of psychedelics. I'm not 100% invested in the adrenochrome thing personally but this seems like a fairly obvious reference to it.
