Planefags? Somebody? Does this suspicious helicopter look like a hit, based on the media smog surrounding the incident.

And this article, very strangely, refers to the crash site as "a mountainous area of New Mexico" near the top but "a crash in Canada" according to a tweet from the vice president of the same political movement that the deceased victim was treasurer of.
