Extended LAFD ACS (Auxiliary Communications Service), an official radio network of the Los Angeles Fire Department, their county wide first responder radio resource during emergencies (fire, flood, earthquake, pandemic) for situational information sharing, and eyes on specific information, and to bypass official bottleneck comm challenges during an emergency, and even to replace the primary comm system in the event of compromise or destruction.
These are dozens of individuals current, or retired first responders, carefully screened by the LAFD, with radio comm skills located in strategic regions of L.A. county. During their conversation I could determine two specific member locations - Long Beach port, and Laurel Canyon. Their job is to assess eyes on specific details of an emergency, and report those specifics across the radio network, not provide social or political commentary. Because of the current state of emergency, they are gathering daily on air at a specific time during the day to check in (roll call), and share what they determine is relevant information.
It's a no nonsense group, that during a big "happening," they will likely be among those sharing actual information as it unfolds. Until the military instructs them to go silent, of course. Until then, I will be tuning in to glean as much information as I can. Trying to find this information anywhere on commercial radio is non-existent.
Included in this video of L.A. wide radio chatter from yesterday, 3-18-20, they discuss where the best information can be found on social media, and specifically where it is not found. Conspiracy theories are not their forte. It's not their job. That means no BS during a time of real world emergency with lives on the line.
