I saw this tweet from @jonathanvswan of Axios and was going to write a snarky reply. Instead, I started to do some research. Since I am a wuss at twitter, I didn't follow through with the tweet. Instead, I thought it best to bring this to the attention of other anons that might want to make use of the info.

I wanted to see who has money in Axios, which led me to:

Article about Axios seeking funding: https://www.vox.com/recode/2019/12/16/21019605/axios-funding-glade-brook-mike-allen-publishing-funding-politics-vandehei

That article showed me that Glade Brook Capital Partners made a significant investment into Axios.

So I looked into Glade Brook, which first led me to: https://www.gladebrookcapital.com

Noticed two team members of Asian descent:

Chun Hei Wong

Principal

Mr. Wong joined Glade Brook in July 2017 as Associate. At Glade Brook, he focuses on investment research, due diligence and portfolio company value-add. Previously he was a member of Credit Suisse’s investment banking team in Hong Kong, New York and Singapore, focusing primarily on TMT. Mr. Wong earned a B.A. degree in Economics from Swarthmore College.

&

Linda Guo

Partner

Ms. Guo joined Glade Brook in 2016 and focuses on investment research, due diligence and portfolio company value-add. Prior to Glade Brook, Ms. Guo worked in investment banking at Credit Suisse in Hong Kong, where she focused on equity capital markets transactions in the technology sector. Ms. Guo earned a MBA from Stanford University and is a graduate of New York University.

Assets of CCP?

I am not sure, my research stopped there, but it is pretty interesting that Glade Brook has nearly 40% of their portfolio invested in Chinese companies (also seen at gladebrookcapital.com). Some could say that is enough to try to side with China when it comes to the narrative.
