You are a SLAVE to it. It consumes your work, it's impossible to escape without concerted effort, it handcuffs you to the never ending drive up the hierarchy. And this is one of the ways they catch you in their schemes.

The worst part is most business people like my partner (he was the sales/finance guy, I was the producer) will do ANYTHING including sub prime loans just to get one more month despite my fervent resistance. It was out of my control.

You can't out earn your stupidity when it comes to loans. bad ones in particular.

I want nothing than to operate at peak efficiency producing goods critical to the current crisis,

but I can't. I don't have the capital personally to take over, I don't have the financial control. And starting from scratch would take too long.
