I think it's hilarious that some folks are now positing that the 10 days of darkness starts tomorrow and ends on 3/31
It is still 3 weeks from good friday….
Dumb fucks.

I own my own small business repairing houses in Iowa… as far as I'm concerned I would be considered a "tradesman" and allowed to work. Only work with one employee and we're not kissing cousins to put it mildly.
Do not plan on any overnight travel until this is over- my normal territory is the western half of Iowa.
How do I go about proving that to any National Guard and military people that I am a "tradesman" even though I don't have a card for anything.
I am a registered contractor in the state though.
I went to the bank this morning so my wife could withdraw her paycheck. Saw the branch manager talking to someone else in the bank saying we'll give it to her this time but I'm not happy about it.
(I can lipread through the glass)
They must be running short on cash. We did ask for all 20's.
Rural Iowa bank with 31 offices.
I'm a registered contractor but I am not in a trade that requires a contractor's license.
It wasn't "a lot" only $500 today and I cashed $1700 last week. In normal times not an issue but I don't' normally deal in cash either.
"Lay off" means they can be called back at any time. Considering that his business has probably taken a hit and has no work for the next 3 weeks or so this might be the best thing for him to do.
Don't let him FIRE his employees though… that would make it harder to hire them back IMHO.
If I was running a bigger company you better believe I would be laying off people right now.
