That's not what people are hearing. In Germany, for example, the media is pushing the narrative that Trump is making foolish moves and is trying to recruit all available world minds and resources for US benefit only.
You have to figure we're native English speakers, for the most part, and look at the difficulty we have trying to ascertain what's real and what's bullshit. How many people in the world speak German, in comparison, and what chance do they have to get information from the myriad of sources that an English speaker could?
Not many Germans around with English comprehension at a level to begin to understand POTUS. The vast majority watch the German MSM to be 'informed' and are (arrogantly) naive enough to think they know all the answers.
The rest of the non-native English speakers WW are in the same boat.

Groups have been gathering for Corona parties and it pissed him off.
