Let me tell you something anon. I am a airline pilot. 30+ years. Your post is about the most inane, uniformed illustration of ignorance I've seen on this bullshit issue of "Chem-Trails".

The commercial fleet of airliners, no matter the carrier, no matter the type of aircraft, is NOT being used to spray chemicals into the atmosphere. Period. There is no "BIG CONSPIRACY by the manufacturers Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, Bombardiier, all of them, to poison the skies. There is no "switch" in the cockpit that says "Chemical Discharge". Chemicals are not being laced into Jet A fuel. The only thing being exhausted into the air is the same thing that comes out of your car exhaust.

In the remote possibility that you have not been paying attention, air traffic is down because PEOPLE ARE NOT FLYING due to muh corona.

You seem well meaning and sincere. I'd be happy to answer any question you have on why you see these "contrails". Educate yourself please.

Very well may be anon. Socialism, communism and the like always looks nice, just and equal on paper. But when people start having to deal with it? Yes, perhaps a life lesson for these morans.

Not doubting what you've seen anon. There many reasons why atmosphere reacts and changes the way it does. But let's clarify, you've seen these changes occur in the atmosphere after a commercial jet liner flies through?

The suspicion anons by the op was related to commercial aircraft. I am not denying nor do I have experience with other operations ie…….military, scientific, other types of operations. I've seen everything all of you have seen. On topic, Commercial airliners.

The anon who posted first has it exactly right. Simply, air pockets that have no moisture ie……dry vs. air pockets that are saturated with moisture. Like an automobile, when the exhaust exits the rear of the engine it is HOT, just like your car or just like you exhaling when it's cold outside.

When you see a jet emit contrails and then stop then start up again this is exactly what is happening. The aircraft is flying through areas in the atmosphere that have different levels of moisture content. The temperature at flight levels is very cold. Cold air, hot exhaust and the make up of the air equals contrails or not.

You will never see, even on a very cold day, a jet on approach or taking off emitting contrails. This is not to say that you will not see the airflow over the wings generating condensation but this is happening for a very different reason.
