your interpretation of that data is incorrect anon. it depicts number of new cases based on the date symptoms start. it makes sense that there would be fewer cases reported under that criteria in the most recent days depicted, because cases are currently being confirmed of cases that showed symptoms for multiple days before getting tested. you see the same pattern in the data for cases in canada as shown in pic related.

no anon, you are misunderstanding. the graphs depict new cases based on when symptoms started. ive had symptoms for 2 days but have not been tested. if my symptoms worsen, then i will get tested. most positive cases are not found at the immediate onset of symptoms, but later when they worsen, or panic sets in. so it makes sense that there have been fewer new cases reported in the most recent days. the data does not indicate a drop in new cases, it indicates that the new cases being confirmed, started showing symptoms a week or so ago.
yes the pattern of the graph will remain similar as the dates on the bottom progress. the data just says that new cases have been showing symptoms for more than a few days/week before being confirmed.
