NBC Today show doing segment on the surge of people using the Internet at home, teleconferencing/video calls, more streaming. Talking about if it can sustain the increased load. Preemptive warnings that the net might go down at some point?

Good question. Every flu season, (((they))) elaborate on the tens of thousands of deaths, but they fail to mention a lot of those flu deaths are compounded with pneumonia. That's the REAL killer.

Hope there's nothing moar coming.. but with hospitals cancelling anything elective/non-emergent, just sounds spoopy.

Used to be an ICUfag.. you speak truth. Had to leave because my internal ethics didn't like how MDs pushed for every treatment under the sun, or didn't recommend hospice/end of life care. Giving families false hope that your 86 y/o memaw with 5 co-morbidties might get off the vent. I just couldn't do it anymore. It hurt my soul.

And this is the other side of the coin as well. Sometimes MDs just don't care. Don't get me wrong, there are good docs out there, but they are few and far between and many don't have hospital privileges. They're just lil practices that normally stress the importance of prevention and healthy living, not just giving out a pill for every lil thing.

Sorry for what you went thru with your mom, anon.. hope she's well.
