clowns still have access to endpoint hardware, even though they have been cut off from the servers. endpoint hardware can be re-homed. perhaps not with the same level of server side functionality, but it's not all that hard to point stuff at a different server, just the same.

at that, as long as the hardware looks presentable and workable enough on the set, anything can be displayed on a screen for the right shot.

It would only take about $500- $1000 to purch stuff that looks just as shiney as that shit off of craigslist or some other place, and put some stuff on a screen.
