ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. – A single engine airplane went down in the Atlantic Ocean, approximately 18 nautical miles east of Port St. Lucie on Saturday, according to the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG).

USCG received a call at 3:35 p.m.

Coast Guard officials are on the scene.
