Don't buy the other anon's info. The 144k don't "disappear". The born again Christians are the ones who disappear at the rapture.
The 144k are from the 12 tribes of Israel. 12K from each tribe. They go through The Great Tribulation unscathed. They will basically be 144k Billy Grahams preaching repentance and God's Word to the world during that time.
