The Windows 95 to 2000 icons were some of the nicest I've ever seen. Microsoft is stupid for not just hiring someone to redraw those larger for new screens. A fucking monkey could do what they came up with for Windows 10.

That's because they had unskilled Indian programmers tack it on top of the existing design. To disable fade effects, you have to go from the new "Settings" System Info page to a dark pattern link to the old Windows "System" page. There are items that appear in "Programs and Features", also accessed by a dark pattern link, which don't appear in the new "Apps and Features". What a fucking mess.

They're making it harder. Some updates re-enable or reinstall the spy features. The installer won't let you create a non-Microsoft Account user if you're connected to the internet during installation anymore. You have to disconnect the ethernet and turn off wireless before the installer starts, or it will force you to create a Microsoft account for the user.

When they make text for a link look like a "disabled" color or make the text as small as they can, or hide it behind an obscure description. Or some combination of these things. A lot of malware uninstallers will do it with the "Next" button.
