Ah, I get it now. Article I, section 9 of the United States Constitution allows habeus corpus to be suspended for rebellion (treason - Article 3, section 3). This is what gives Q the power to go after these people in military courts.

 

This is why he's been referring to a constitutional crisis lately. What they're doing is something that hasn't been done. They're bypassing the US justice system because these people committed treason against the United States.

 

It's going to raise a lot of eyebrows to say the least. We know they deserve it, but your average American is going to be wondering what the fuck is going on.

 

I don't think it's so much a constitutional crisis because the constitution clearly gives them the power to do this. It will be more of a general crisis and public perception crisis.
