"aquired" means something affected or damaged the liver in a way that disrupts one of the eight steps of heme synthesis. could be booze, pills, contaminated meth or heroin, or various infections like chlamydia pneumoniae, possibly toxoplasmosis, most of the chronic fungal infections.
