The what you and other anons see as "namefagging" which imo isn't started because there were legitimate shills trying to hijack baking early on /qresearch/, so a pastebin system was started where an incoming baker would post his pastebin account with the post he was posting to verify it wasn't a shill. The nickname was just a way to ID a baker, but some just did random numbers or something.
It worked for a while when there wasn't the BO or a BV to do a manual check which worked well too.
Both systems are gone now and the remnants of that system are now seen as namefagging by some.
Anyone can bake though.

I 100% disagree notables are a disease. They're a great way to allow anons to catch up on note worthy posts from the breads they miss and are a group of great information to be spread, which is the point of this information operation.
The famefaggotry is the disease, not notables or baking (which is a necessary function of a general thread anyway).
I personally nominate notables so they're included in a list of information that will be spread. And when I get a post of mine nominated I like that it's in that list for the same reason, not that it's mine.
