My Niece works in a clinic, and has every symptom that has been described.
They had her at her work monitoring her fever, etc. and she's had what amounts to a rough respiratory virus/flu for several days.
She was almost immediately tested, but has been waiting over a week for her results. There are others they highly suspected of COVID-19 at her clinic that have been tested, and also no results.
That means either
>Testing really is in short supply
or
>They are holding the results
I could see holding the results if you are trying to maximize uncertainty, and prevent people from learning that most cases are a common flu or other typical illnesses.
However, why a trump-led CDC would do that, is beyond me.
That leaves the scenario where the testing shortage is real, but the virus itself is essentially the flu with a brand name (I think we all know this at this point)
