that graph does not indicate the number of new cases. it depicts the date that newly reported cases had an onset of symptoms. learn to interpret data anon. this misinformation is becoming close to being weaponized
yes the numbers are trending down. but the number trending down isnt the number of new cases. its the number of new cases that first showed symptoms on that day. it makes sense that newly reported cases had their symptoms begin a week or so ago. which is why the number is lower in the most recent days. it even says on the graph in the data for the most recent days "illnesses that began during this time may not yet be reported". you can see the same pattern in the data of the same parameters coming from canada in first pic related. 2nd pic related, which cdc doesnt even provide, shows "cumulative" cases. last pic related is the data you are looking for.
