A key difference with this one is that it's not a news story or special interest feature, but an editorial.

Local viewers seeing the editorial on their station in isolation would think it was something put together by their trusted news team.

When you see them assembled all at once – and on different networks across all parts of the country – you suddenly understand the control that a single entity can have on so-called "local" news coverage across the nation.

I think that would be a shock to a lot of normies.

Have not seen a transcript yet, so here goes. The irony is even better when you read it on the screen and realize that dozens of stations across every network and every state are reading the exact same script.

Reminds me of that episode of the Simpsons where they go to Kamp Krusty and see the video introducing (Mr. Black).

Hi, I'm (insert local station)'s (insert name).

Our greatest responsibility is to serve our (insert local community) communities.

We are extremely proud of the quality, balanced journalism that (insert station ID) produces.

But we are concerned about a troubling trend in irresponsible, one-sided news stories plaguing our country.

The sharing of biased and false news has become all too common on social media.

More alarming, some media outlets publish these same fake stories without checking facts first.

Unfortunately, some members of the community use thes platforms to push their own personal bias and agenda to control exactly what people think.

This is extremely dangerous to our democracy.

Here's an alternate sauce, and a full transcript of the speech that extends beyond "dangerous to democracy" and also has some corrections.

Notice it's from the ThinkProgress channel. They're spinning it as being more lies from pro-Trump stations.
