In addition, it provides sign design and fabrication services; and invests in various real estate ventures, including developmental land, and operating commercial and multi-family residential real estate properties and apartments, as well as private equity and structured debt/mezzanine financing investment funds. The company was founded in 1986 and is headquartered in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Tribune Broadcasting announced the appointment of James T. Aitken as Vice President & General Manager of WXIN/FOX59 and WTTV/CBS4 in Indianapolis. Aitken will oversee all aspects of this duopoly and WTTV.2, including strategic planning and day-to-day operations. Aitken will report to Kathy Clements, Chief Operating Officer of Tribune Broadcasting. He succeeds Paul Rennie who was named President and General Manager of Tribune Broadcasting'sWGN-TV in Chicago. Aitken was previously Vice President & General Manager of KDAF, Tribune's CW affiliate in Dallas/Fort Worth. Prior to his post at Tribune's KDAF, Aitken was President/General Manager of KREM/KSKN the CBS/CW duopoly in Spokane. Previously Aitken was Vice President/General Manager at KASW and Station Manager at KTVK in Phoenix, AZ, President/General Manager at Texas Cable News in Dallas, TX and Director of Program Development for WFAA in Dallas, TX.
