Mr. Kahn hands-down the most brilliant architect in my lifetime, and many, many others….

A treasure to humanity. And all his work done without the aid of a computer! Just an absolute gift to the world and one of the very few that truly deserve to be called brilliant…..as in Michelangelo brilliant.

I.M. Pei knew and was humble enough to admit it. frank gehry is a footnote in comparison. That’s the definition of history. Those two will be written about and studied, but were rank amateurs by comparison. Both wealthy beyond measure (though Pei has since passed), whereas Louis Kahn died penniless and unknown in the now gone NJ?/NY Railway station. His body lay unclaimed in a morgue for days.

I see there's even a dedicated thread "God Wins" with the picture of Kahn's National Assemby in Dhaka.

Huge fan of Blade Runner, which used FLW's Ennis House as the model for the Tyrell Corp (pics related).

So if a red brick is good, I'm game. If it's bad, have to pass.

FLW made his mark, a true genius too. Though you better be really fucking rich if you own one of the houses he designed. They all fucking leak and the furniture inside, that he also designed, is more uncomfortable than sleeping on the sidewalk.

That said, Running Water reinvented the field of architecture. Not easy to do.

Interesting anon. Thanks for sharing.

The even more creepy part is there's some loose connection, at least speculation, that the Black Dahlia was killed by a famous LA surgeon who lived in Ennis House (if I recall correctly). Sort of blends with your poster.

Think they were friends with the famous director/actor John Hustun of Chinatown (and others) fame…father of Angelica Hustun….girlfriend of jack nicholson….star of Chinatown….and around and around we go.

"Oh, what a tangled web we weave…when first we practice to deceive."

Then again there's some retured LA cop who is convinced his father killed the Black Dahlia.
