Having Trouble figuring this one out. Searched "Wuhan" in the USAspending.gov database. Lots of interesting contracts to go through, but the one that got anon's attention was a small contract btwn the DOJ federal prisons and Wuhan Yishen Tang Biological Tech. Co. According to the spending DB, it is a government owned entity with a Wuhan China address. According to the contract, the place of performance was Quantico, VA.
Went looking for info on the lab - spelled a couple of different ways. Found a reference in PubMed (NIH library) re: splenectomies that cited the lab as having determined "two common α-thalassaemia mutations αCS and Quong Size variant (αQS) were determined using a reverse dot blot hybridisation assay (YiShengTang Biological Products, Shenzhen, China)". An NIH grant also mentioned the lab and again it was for reverse dot blot hybridisation. [Database spells it as two words, PubMed spells it as one word.]
Why would the US government own a lab in Wuhan, why would the "place of performance" be Quanitco, VA and don't we have a US lab that performs reverse dot hybridisation? Funded by Federal Prisons and no web presence = nothing to see here.
