When the Ottoman Empire was destroyed in WWI & Mustafa Kemal (Ataturk) established Turkey as a nation, he changed a lot about their culture. Their alphabet was changed from from Arabic (?) to Latin letters, and he mandated that his citizens change their dress from the traditional garbs, to more modernized, Western wear. The purpose? To acclimate to the times, and to have his people ne more respected in the civilized world. Saudi Arabia may just be headed in that direction.

Iran was headed in that direction before the clowns came to town there. Still there to a degree, but they were set back a bit. Some islamic nations will see it as SA selling out (although many were/are doing the same). Many however may follow suit because, well, Mecca is there. Kemal had ulterior motives (look at Turkey now, it worked well over time), but MBS has the right idea.

As an aside, It always bothered me when muslims not living in the desert, dressed like they live in the desert.
