I'm in construction, too! However, hubby is home with the kids. I am currently shouldering the responsibility of our family. Thank goodness we are a key part of the supply chain! He is in panic mode. He thinks the world is about to end. He seriously spent over $500 on CRAP in 3 days when I gave him that $ for a generator. I looked at his credit card bill and it's ENORMOUS. He has been binge / panic buying. So, I would love for your plan to come to fruition or I'm going to be spending the next 3 months of my life (after physically working until I'm exhausted) returning all the crap he's purchased. I also put back $120 cash for ammo and it's gone. I'm so stressed I just cry every night. I, personally, think there is more to the plan. Self isolating isn't good for our families and/or the elderly. People WANT to go to soccer practice and dance lessons and church. We can't be a community if we're all just hanging at home. After a 10 hour day, I have often spent another 45 minutes after unloading/loading my truck talking to the admin and payroll people just to avoid going home. It's totally NOT strengthening my family.
