Any play on power is gamed and as such the desire for it's prize of power introduces 'skin' into said game.

Nobody is innocent in this.

What I find shocking is the admitted existence of Q (which in and of itself is a form of deep-state). Q's activities also require corruption and an abuse of power (any deviation really)…

It's OK though, we trust them cause they are the 'good guys.'

What I find even more disturbing is the idea that these 'good guys' work in the shadows (when there are more good than bad), but somehow this 'evil' is still present.

I find this to be the signs and symptoms of bullshit. There is something dark and very wrong here.
